HOW IT WORKS FOR YOU
If your an independent musician who has produced a CD and currently only makes sales at Gigs + the odd copy via Napster or Itunes or CDBaby, then this little project might interest you.
We’ve found from experience and from talking to our friends around the acoustic music scene that the big distributors simply do not work for them, and no wonder, many of the sites require quite heavy programmes to be down loaded so as to search and read the availbable material plus they listing simply millions of artists.
Making sales at Gigs can be hit and miss to. All depends if the audience has an extra £10 in their wallet. If they don’t the chance of a sale could be lost.
Sending people to the big sites can be off putting to the potential customer. A smaller more specialised site might be of more interest.
What chance for little old duos like the good old Rawmarsh Mashers ever being found without the employment of loads of Internet tricks, all far too clever for me.
We also know that many of you dislike the lack of control that you have over your material and sales.
We think that we have come up with a process that will help both the Artist and Acoustic Rotherham.
Your CD is then listed in the shop. Go HERE for a working example page.
When a Sale is made you will be notified by Email -
You post the CD to the customer. Hopefully within two days.
The key factor to this is that you the artist keep control of your stock and material.
PROMOTION
Once we have an interesting collection of Cds to offer we’ll be promoting the CD Shop over the Internet heavily.
We’ll produce slips that you can leave at your Gigs.
And of course we’ll be featuring Cds listed in the shop on the Acoustic Rotherham pages via the David Kidman Review pages, the News Letter and The News Blog, which now has a regular weekly readership of over six hundred per week.
