Ian Roberts hails from Dartford in Kent but has been living and playing guitar in
the Derby and Nottingham area for the last 15 years. Influenced by John Denver, he
enjoys writing and singing
songs from the heart. His first album 'No Greater Gift',
inspired after posting his songs on You Tube, was released in 2008 and was well received.
Ian currently plays regularly in a duo with Trevor McMaster where you can here him covering many classic tracks by various artists. Still he always finds it a pleasure to sit down with his own songs and share them with a new audience and is looking forward to Acoustic Rotherham 10.

Andrew Cream -
"...this is the kind of music you'd want to listen to on a sunny day
whilst sat in
the garden with a few cold beers. My personal favourite song is Empty Complaints,
which is really catchy and reminds me of the Sundowner album Four One Five Two..."

...it's actually pretty damn good. Reminiscent of Mike Park with honest songwriting

Glenn Coggin is a singer/songwriter based in Scarborough.
For many years he has been well known on the local music scene, and is currently
receiving widespread recognition and travelling further
afield.
In 2004 things changed after a week of song writing at La Jeusseliniere in France, tutored by Harvey Andrews. Glenn reassessed his musical direction and now concentrates more on writing and performing his own material, although some choice covers can still be found in his live sets.
If you would like to get in touch, or to make enquiries about booking Glenn to play

Dylan Brierley is the 12-
and singer.
It’s only a couple of years since Dylan picked up his first guitar but his talent shone through from that moment.
Dylan's guitar is now an extension of himself. Acoustic or electric, it makes no difference, though he has developed a preference for acoustic and a folk style, to which he has also added the ukulele.
As though singing, playing and enchanting his audience were not enough, Dylan is
also a budding songwriter and already has a repertoire of self-
STEVE HICKS AND LYNN GOULBOURN
Songs and guitar instrumentals from British Isles and North American Traditions.
Steve Hicks: Guitar and Vocals. Lynn Goulbourn: Guitar and Vocals.
Folk, Ragtime and hot fingerpicking guitar, Celtic, acoustic pop, singer songwriter, jazz standards and blues.
Steve Hicks and Lynn Goulbourn met at a gig in Staffordshire U.K. in February 2007.
They hit common ground after playing a few songs together to finish the night and
soon after began rehearsing collaborative material for Steve's CD 'Guided by the
Grain' released in November 2007. Live shows soon followed with Lynn contributing
vocal numbers and harmonies at Steve's gigs and the pair have now developed into
a fully fledged duo outfit. They have now released their first duo CD ‘Hicks and
Goulbourn’.
They are playing shows throughout the UK at folk clubs and acoustic music venues with recent gigs taking them from the South of England up to the Scottish Borders. They have also played shows in the Southern and Mid Western United States taking in festivals and live radio performances.
Lynn Goulbourn is an outstanding vocalist who can handle everything from the most demanding traditional songs or jazz standards to the gentlest of lullabies, in addition to providing subtle harmonies.
”Steve Hicks is one of the UK’s leading exponents of finger style guitar. Drawing on an astonishing repertoire that encompasses Classical, Celtic, Ragtime, Blues and Folk styles. He delivers material with technical skill, astute artistic integrity and a natural sense of what it means to entertain.” West Sussex County Times.
Steve has recently been recording in Germany for Acoustic Music Records, Europe’s largest and most prestigious label for acoustic guitarists. He toured Germany in November 2009 as part of an international guitar quartet.
In addition to the incredible range of musical styles, the honest vocal delivery and the breathtaking displays of virtuosity from Steve's guitar solos, a most engaging thing about this pair is the blend of personalities they display on stage. They are at once totally at ease with themselves and the audience. Their shows create a wonderful, memorable experience. Catch them as soon as you can.

With a shimmering, achingly beautiful voice, delicate, finger picked acoustic guitar,
a repertoire of unpretentious songs, a naturally warm stage presence
and rapport
with accompanist Christopher Bilton (mandolin, cajon, banjo, glockenspiel), Holly
has truly earned her reputation as one of the North’s most respected young acoustic
performers. Over the last few years, Holly has gigged constantly and supported the
likes of The Wedding Present, Martha Tilston and Boo Hewerdine. She has also earned
recognition from the BBC New Talent initiative for her songwriting prowess, and performed
extensively in the UK including appearances at Stainsby Festival, Beverley Folk Festival
and the Deer Shed Festival.
An exciting new sound on the local Rotherham music scene.
Well I say NEW this is The Rogues (he can’t escape it as
much as he would hope) Kev
in a new music collaboration with Laura and the sound is just brilliant.
Don’t believe me, then check out the track on the AR Player or head to their Myspace page.
I’m really looking forward to seeing them perform live.
Typically Kev has little to say so we’ll leave you to make your own minds up.
THE MISK HILLS MOUNTAIN RAMBLER (NOTTINGHAMSHIRE WAY)
The 'Misk Hills Mountain Rambler' . . . on guitars, banjo, vocals, banging, knocking
and shaking + anyone else who
cares to turn up for a strum . . .
Heavily influences by the ‘Naked Rambler’ the MHMR is not an inoculation, but simply just an ordinary wordsmith in an ordinary shirt, wearing ordinary shoes carrying an ordinary chain saw . . . singing ordinary songs about ordinary people . . . with a little smattering of death, misery, hanging, dog shit and protest . . . well, someone has to protest in this sterile world!!
