HERE IS THE BASIC INFORMATION YOU MAY NEED FOR GETTING TO AN ACOUSTIC ROTHERHAM HIRING FAIR

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR ARTISTS APPEARING AT ACOUSTIC ROTHERHAM EVENTS

 

1.  START TIME.  FIRST STAGE TIME IS 1:00PM (13:00) Someone will normally be about from around 12:15pm and if you have some special sound requirements then the time between 12:15pm and 1:00pm is the best time to get them sorted with the day’s sound man.

 

2. THE VENUE.   The Queens, Kilnhurst Road, Rawmarsh Rotherham  For those with Sat Navs – The POST CODE IS S62 5QN

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3. Your ON STAGE TIME will be published on a Blog posted on the Acoustic Rotherham Myspace page two or three weeks before the event.

 

4. Please keep your set time as close to 25 minutes as you can.

 

5. We would also appreciate it if you could keep the switch over time down by tuning instruments etc and be ready for when you are called.

 

6. PA /SOUND We’ve got a basic PA system good enough for all acts up to and including a trio.  If you have any special requirements please contact me before the event – and be prepared to get to The Queens by 12:15pm on the day of the event.  (You can always clear off after you are happy with your sound).

 

7. The event is all about networking and extracting as much publicity about your music.  Feel free to bring your CDs – Business Cards – Event Fliers – Club Publicity etc.  

 

8.    EVENT PUBLICITY  Acoustic Rotherham handle all the local media  and getting the word out around the locality of Rotherham.  But we like to spread the word so the more you can plug your appearance when making Folk Club or Open Mic appearances or even concerts -  the more folks might turn up on the afternoon and the more media interest there might be.

Help us by making sure that your Myspace friends or Reverbnation contacts or any of the multitude of sites artists can now subscribe to know of the event.  Add it to any News letters you might send out.

 

9.   Of course after the event it’s nice to leave comments on all the Myspace pages.  You can find the page of all the participating acts on the Acoustic Rotherham Myspace in the Friends  Section.

 

10.  Chris the Land Lord of The Queens  has assured me that there will be food available in the pub.  This will take the form of Rolls etc.  There might also be the chance of a Hog Roast.

 

11. You’re not forced to sit through the entire afternoon.  However, we have found that it really helps in terms of atmosphere etc. if you can give as much support as possible to your fellow performers on the afternoon.
